So I found a few songs and videos from my bands in the “olden days”, and thought it may be nice to put them in the one place.
Here’s my current Spotify Playlist with bands i have been in, mixed up with some influences
And here’s some videos:
SOULSCRAPER – Melbourne based band from 1991-1994.
Here’s the first single called “Heard it all before” from 1992
Heres the primary song from the second EP – Neo Anarcho 1993
iNsuRge – Sydney based band from 1994-2000
The breakthrough single was Political Prisoners from the 1995 EP of the same name. Unfortunately, this video was recently removed from Youtube, apparently for copright reasons. This is a (probably temporarily available) version on vimeo.
Next came Speculator in 1996, Because everyone needs to write songs on currency speculators and commodity traders, and their dangerously over-sized influence on global markets and politics. This one can be viewed here on Facebook
Here is Soul 4 Sale, one of the singles from the iNsuRge album Power to the Poison People (1996). Still particularly like the lyrics on this one, This is also viewable here on Facebook
You can also find these videos on Facebook (I will work on getting a better platform soon):
I.M.F. from the debut E.P. considering the 50th aniversary of the International Monetary Fund
Timebomb – this vid went missing for quite some time, glad we got it back.
I Hate Stupid People – except i’m not immune from stupidity myself from time to time. Weirdly we are told this did well in Russia
Images of London – Our Kev Carmody cover. And got to run around Newtown and Kings Cross dressed as the Queen
And here’s Lock On from the last iNsuRge album Globalisation (2000)
Blackbreaks – Katoomba based band from 2012-2018. Well i was based in Katoomba anyway, the rest of the band could usually be found somewhere between Blacktown and Newtown.
This is Need Machines from 2014, with film clip by Anthony “Ash” Brennan
This is Too Big to Fail from the Golden Greats Album 2018. Band footage was shot by Felipe Figuero. Vintage footage from archive.org , all other footage, editing and driection by Dubrow
Here is Alienation – also tells the tale of how Matty joined the band, and features early drummer the late great Anthony Matters on drums and the always busy Kieren Hills on bass – check out his other things here
And this is Terra Nullius, the final Blackbreaks single, from the Golden Greats Album 2018. Also directed by by Anthony “Ash” Brennan
